Dryer vent in 2x4 exterior wall. Little back story. A year or so ago, I noticed an extreme amount of cold air around my back door. Enough that I would get snow that came inside and it wouldn't melt for days. Upon examination of the dryer vent, both from outside and the crawlspace, I found it wasn't sealed at all. I sprayed some foam.

Dryer vent pipe is 4" in diamenter, which is still too wide to go through a 2x4 interior wall. It has to be squished a little to get through the studs. Step 2 Diagram.. Where we've stubbed out the dryer vent to the outside wall, the pipe has the crimped end out. So we have to cut the crimped end off. Much better, no lint magnet.
